Technology is Changing the way Real Estate
is Sold - The Internet provides information that is more easily
collected – making lower costs for the real estate firm.
According to the 2006 National Association of
REALTORS®
Profile of Home Buyers and Seller's, 80% of all homebuyers
used the Internet as an information source. (Source: 2006
National Association of REALTORS® Profile of Home Buyers and
Seller's.) And this percentage is growing very quickly each
year.
Limited Service Brokerage Increasing
NAR (National Association of Realtors®) has released its
latest profile of homebuyers and sellers, showing that For
Sale By Owner (F.S.B.O) sales are declining but the use of
limited service brokers may be increasing. The survey found
that 9 percent of respondents used "limited service" brokers
and 8 percent used "minimal services," such as just listing
a property in the MLS. NAR (National Association of
Realtors®) said there were not benchmark numbers for limited
service brokerage, but it believes more brokers are now
offering unbundled services and the trend is likely to
